Safety managers know all too well the challenges and perils of making sure emergency safety shower fixtures work properly when outside conditions are freezing, windy, snowy, rainy and downright frightful.

And that’s not to mention other worksite “extremes”– like chemicals or high heat – that can complicate optimal emergency shower performance.

Whether you have “Polar Vortex” or “Dust Bowl” conditions, even the most challenging worksite must have emergency eyewashes and drench showers that are able to deliver ANSI-required tepid water that is conducive to flushing for 15 minutes.

Is your worksite faced with any of these worksite challenges?

  • Extreme air temperatures in the range of -25 F (-32 C) - 120 F (49 C)
  • Water temperatures between 32 F (0 C) - 110 F (43 C)
  • High winds
  • Heavy precipitation
  • Corrosive materials
  • Chemicals
  • Explosive or ignitable gases, and vapors
  • Explosive or ignitable dust

If so, here are some Bradley product solutions that guard against extreme environments:

Heat trace units are versatile and effective solutions for protecting against damage due to frozen pipes and parts. Bradley recently introduced its Heat Trace Showers with Halo Technology, which is engineered to provide dependable freeze protection down to -50° F/-46° C. These heat trace units incorporate stainless steel eyewash bowls with covers to protect the unit from wind, rain and snow and meet the NEMA 4X standard.

Enclosed safety showers come as complete packages offering an enclosed shelter from the elements, privacy and a warm ambient environment. Bradley’s durable enclosed safety showers made with 100% vacuum-formed, fiberglass-surrounded construction can withstand seismic activity, hurricane-force winds and highly corrosive environments.

Some applications in demanding environments need specialized engineering and product expertise. Bradley Corp.’s Design On Demand™ (DOD) program offers customized services and product solutions that are ideal for large or small industrial applications in these tough environments.
