With the 2018 summer season still going strong – and record high temps scorching much of the U.S. – many are looking to community and recreational pools to cool off, exercise and have fun.

Public pools are popular “hot spots” young and old alike.  Did you know:

  1. Walking
  2. Weightlifting
  3. Running
  4. Using Cardiovascular Equipment
  5. Swimming, surfing, waterskiing

Alas, the huge popularity of one of America’s favorite pastimes often brings maintenance consequences to pool shower areas. High traffic and heavy usage – in wet, humid and salt-laden environments common to swim areas – can be tricky. These factors can, over time, wreak havoc on shower systems and complicate maintenance.

Brian Mykituk, mall maintenance manager for a major waterpark in West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada, can attest to the challenges surrounding keeping his 60-plus shower units working properly. “Our old showers were a maintenance nightmare for costs and time,” he said. Mykituk replaced the showers with Bradley 1C-TT wall shower units, as he found that the vandal-resistant, metered showers proved to reduce maintenance and conserve money and water. “There are no drips and the shower rooms are dry - they’re just great units. We have had no maintenance on any of the showers, which has saved us huge dollars in labor and parts, as well as the water savings.”
